Lexi works as a Senior Program Manager at Humanity United, where she manages global grantmaking programs focused on human rights and peacebuilding. She brings nearly 10 years of experience in philanthropy, where she has supported many dozens of nonprofit organizations to advance their missions. A New Jersey native and graduate of Princeton University, Lexi has been a supporter of Young Lives New Brunswick since 2020. As a new mom herself, she knows how important it is for parents to have a supportive and loving community as they raise their children.
Andrea has been the point contact for volunteers at Young Lives Clubs for several years now, and knows many of the ministry's moms and their children personally. She is an expert at hosting events focused on fundraising and hospitality, and at anticipating the needs of those around her. She has served on the local Young Life committee for over ten years now, and serves as the main bridge between the partnership ministry's committee and the Gen16 board.
Protim has had a for-profit and nonprofit career spanning financial markets, ministries, and urban education, throughout which God has called him to seek and serve underserved communities. While they lack basic needs and services, they also bring substantial wisdom and resilience. This is why Protim feels invested in the mission of Gen16 and what we are building with and on behalf of adolescent mothers. He knows he will have the opportunity to learn from mothers and their communities as well as leverage his background in strategic leadership and social justice advocacy, supporting the staff who directly serve the flourishing of this critical population and ultimately, the God who sees them.
Anika Nelson serves as an Assistant Prosecutor in New Jersey, where she is committed to seeking justice, protecting the rights of victims, and serving the community with fairness and integrity. Her work has strengthened her belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and that strong communities are built when people are supported during life's most difficult moments. This passion for service extends beyond her legal career. She has volunteered with other organizations, including YoungLives, that invest in individuals and families, that create opportunities for lasting change through mentorship, community, and meeting physical needs. She is honored to support Gen16's mission and looks forward to contributing her legal perspective to help others flourish.
Amy was on staff with YoungLives as Program Coordinator from 2020-2026. After 6 years serving teen moms and their children, she firmly believes that they are some of the bravest people she knows. She is excited to begin a new chapter serving on the board of Gen16 and championing the cause further.
Mike is a software engineer and was formerly the founding engineer at two venture-backed startups. When he set out on the startup journey, it was with the hope of learning how to build something from the ground up. He always felt the Lord calling Amy and him to start a nonprofit, and spent six years in startup life gaining the skills and confidence to make that a reality. He has loved being part of YoungLives as Amy's spouse, with the chance to attend camp multiple times and watch the moms grow in confidence in Christ. It's been incredible to witness. He can't wait to continue furthering the mission God has for serving teen moms in New Brunswick.
